Nettle is one plant that farmers and wild foragers alike approach with elated caution due to her sharp, irritating hairs that itch with a finely throb. Though one needs caution when harvesting this beauty, nettle is one of the most prized herbs in the plant kingdom because it is one of the most nutritious plants on the Earth.

Susun Weed, the famous herbalist, once said (and I’m paraphrasing here) that if you only use one herb, use Nettle! This is because nettle is packed with nutrients and vitamins making it a powerhouse of a plant. Nettle is high in iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and numerous amino acids to name a few.

Nettle enhances and supports a feeling of well-being and vitality while bringing support to the immune system, lymphatic system and kidneys. It has been used to cure allergies, asthma, anemia, tendonitis, muscle injuries and more. Nettle really is a most versatile plant!

Nettle is also hailed as a “cure all” for many aliments caused by our disconnection from the natural world in our modern day society. One example of this is anxiety and chronic fatigue. At the heart of both is depletion of minerals, nutrients and vital life-force energy. Stressed out adrenals become overreactive and inefficient resulting in anxiety, fear, chronic fatigue, depression and more. Nettle helps restore function of the adrenals, strengthening, townifying and remineralizing, leading to less reactivity and proper function. In turn, the symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue are relieved at the source.

Nettle is a great remedy to turn to anytime you find yourself craving “greens,” after an illness, in early spring or autumn as part of a detox, During menopause or menstruation. To support a healthy pregnancy before, during and after. To nourish your blood, to strengthen your body and more. Nettle is amazing anytime, during any and all stages of life, even children! Helping to mineralize and nourish their bodies from the beginning!

Nettle also empowers strong energetic and physical boundaries for the whole body, especially for those of us who are a little more sensitive. Nettle gently reminds us that it is okay to say “Hey, give me my space!” Remember she only pricks when you come too close!

Ingredients: Wildcrafted Nettle Leaves and flowers in organic vodka

Dosage Recommendations:

Children: 2 - 12: 1/2 -1 dropper full in juice or water, up to 3x’s a day.

Adults: 1 - 3 dropper full in juice up to 3x’s a day

A note about dosage:

Dosing with herbs is not as straight forward as with pharmaceuticals since they work synergistically with the body instead of masking and covering symptoms by overriding the bodies natural healing mechanisms.

A good rule of thumb is to start slow and let the body decide what the right dosage is. Our dosage recommendations are just that: a general recommendation. Trust your body and its innate wisdom. Some people will need more, others will need less. For acute symptoms start with 1 dropper full and repeat as needed every 15 min until you notice some relief or shift within your body. For long term or chronic conditions, pay attention to signs that your body is in the sweet spot or if it needs more or less of the tincture. That being said you cannot do the same amount of damage or “overdose” the way you can with pharmaceuticals. Even the amount of alcohol is minimal will not cause harm. Tinctures are considered safe and effective and the original medicine!
