Lemongrass is a beautifully aromatic herb used in traditionally in Thai cooking, that lends a hint of sweetness and acid to a variety of dishes. The herb itself is an astringent which means that it helps to dry, draw or shrink tissue to help create a barrier and properties make it an amazing ally to the mucous membranes of the body for helping to ease and alleviate sore throats, laryngitis, gastrointestinal issues and urinary issues.

Lemongrass is also anti-spasmodic and a nervine, meaning it helps by calming and soothing irritation within smooth muscles of the digestive tract and renal systems; lending relief to vomiting, stomachache, digestive spasms and general abdominal pain, IBS and overactive bladder. Plus lemongrass is a diuretic, which helps to relieve edema and abdominal bloating by flushing excess fluid from the body through the renal system.

Lemongrass also is commonly used for achy joints, exhaustion, fever, headache, high blood pressure, convulsions, the common cold, regulating menstrual flow, mild to severe anxiety, GI infections, pain, vertigo and reduction of inflammation.

Ingredients: Wildcrafted Lemongrass in organic grain-free vodka

Dosage:

Children: 2 - 12: 1/2 -1 dropper full in juice or water every 45 minutes until ease occurs, then as needed.

Adults: 1 - 3 dropper full in juice, water or directly on tongue every 20 minutes until ease occurs, then as needed.

A note about dosage:

Dosing with herbs is not as straight forward as with pharmaceuticals since they work synergistically with the body instead of masking and covering symptoms by overriding the bodies natural healing mechanisms.

A good rule of thumb is to start slow and let the body decide what the right dosage is. Our dosage recommendations are just that: a general recommendation. Trust your body and its innate wisdom. Some people will need more, others will need less. For acute symptoms start with 1 dropper full and repeat as needed every 15 min until you notice some relief or shift within your body. For long term or chronic conditions, pay attention to signs that your body is in the sweet spot or if it needs more or less of the tincture. That being said you cannot do the same amount of damage or “overdose” the way you can with pharmaceuticals. Even the amount of alcohol is minimal will not cause harm. Tinctures are considered safe and effective and the original medicine!
