Dandelions are probably one of the most recognizable plants in America. Everyone knows those bright yellow, fuzzy blossoms that poke their heads up to the sun as the seasons warm signifying that summer is right around the corner. They are welcomed first foods for bees and contain numerous medicinal and nutritional benefits for us humans. Unfortunately, many are unaware of the numerous health benefits and instead treat dandelions as a nuisance weed, often sprayed with weed killer as homeowners try to rid their lawns of the beautiful yellow blooms.

Dandelions are extremely nutritious and packed with vitamins and nutrients. They are high in potassium, vitamin K, C, E, iron, protein, calcium, magnesium and other essential minerals.

Dandelions leaves are in the category of herbalism as a bitter, meaning they stimulate gastric juices, aid in digestion, bile production, relieve nausea, stimulate appetite, reduce heartburn, cure bloating and gas and help gently detox.

Because of their full nutrient profile and bitter constitution they are amazing at aiding the kidneys in flushing out toxins and improving function, purifying the blood, stimulating gastric juices to support digestion, reduce cholesterol, relieve gout, regulate cardiac function due to their high potassium levels, as well as stimulate appetite, relive ulcers, and even assist in producing bile helping to reduce the stress on the liver.

So the next time you see those little yellow flowers, remember what powerful healing medicine they are!

Ingredients: Organic Dandelion leaf in organic vodka

Dosage Recommendations:

Children: 2 - 12: 1/2 -1 dropper full in juice or water, up to 3x’s a day.

Adults: 1 - 3 dropper full in juice up to 3x’s a day

A note about dosage:

Dosing with herbs is not as straight forward as with pharmaceuticals since they work synergistically with the body instead of masking and covering symptoms by overriding the bodies natural healing mechanisms.

A good rule of thumb is to start slow and let the body decide what the right dosage is. Our dosage recommendations are just that: a general recommendation. Trust your body and its innate wisdom. Some people will need more, others will need less. For acute symptoms start with 1 dropper full and repeat as needed every 15 min until you notice some relief or shift within your body. For long term or chronic conditions, pay attention to signs that your body is in the sweet spot or if it needs more or less of the tincture. That being said you cannot do the same amount of damage or “overdose” the way you can with pharmaceuticals. Even the amount of alcohol is minimal will not cause harm. Tinctures are considered safe and effective and the original medicine!
